The
McKEECO Small Log System provides a system for converting small
diameter hardwood and softwood logs into finished
timber.
Depending
on log volume a chipper canter and sawing headrig is all that is
needed in conjunction with a board edger for
edging the sideboards. The larger diameter logs are fed through the
saw centre a couple of times.

CENTERING
INFEED CONVEYER
The centering infeed conveyer rotates the log to the desired cutting
position, centres and holds the log.
HEADRIG
The headrig can be either a sawing only or a reducing sawing unit.
The reducing unit contains two chipper discs. The centre line sharp
chain extends through the reducer / sawing section.

OUTFEED
SEPARATOR
The outfeed separator is for separating the sideboards from the centre
cant. An overhead spiky wheel holds the centre onto the sharp chain.
Sidepress rolls hold the sideboards whilst the log is still in
the cut. Hourglass rollers separate the sideboards from the centre
cant after cutting.
