The McKEECO twin log edger provides
a system for converting medium sized hardwood and softwood logs directly
into finished timber
or accurately sized flitches for resawing. Logs up to 900mm
diameter can be processed.
INFEED
The infeed allows the log to be efficiently turned and positioned
and has offset and taper facilities enabling the logs to be centered.
EDGER
The edger can be custom built to suit a range of saw diameters from
1200mm (48") to 1830mm (72").
The
saw carriages are mounted on twin hardchromed shafts with bronze
brushed bearing
housings. Hydraulically driven
bed rolls are fitted to each saw
carriage.
OVERHEAD CARRIAGE
The overhead carriage can dog a minimum length log of
1.8m.
The support frame is completely fabricated in the workshop
in two sections. An AC geared motor fitted with a frequency
inverter
powers the overhead carriage feedworks.
INSTALLATION
The infeed table and outfeed rollcase are mounted within the support
frame in the workshop minimising the on-site installation time.
SETWORKS
The setworks system is a PLC controlled system by Int-Elect Systems.
The setworks is
reliable and
accurate with the ability to park one saw out of the cut and
being able to be reprogrammed if a special size is required.
